Independent status and no affiliation
Temple of Light is an independent community and educational project. Neoteric Martial Arts (NMA) is an independently developed system of Martial Arts practice and instruction within the project.
The project is not affiliated in any way with Lucasfilm Ltd. LLC, The Walt Disney Company, or any of their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates or licensees. It was not created, licensed, sponsored, supported or endorsed by them and does not represent their official views.
The name Jedi Formation appears in the project’s history and in the names of some of its accounts. It does not indicate any official connection with Lucasfilm, Disney or any other rights holder and should not be understood as identifying a project, product or service belonging to them.
No name, image, design, event, publication or statement associated with the project should be interpreted as evidence of a licence, partnership, representation, sponsorship or official endorsement by any of these rights holders.
Star Wars and third-party rights
Star Wars, together with the names, characters, stories, images, logos, symbols, sounds, music, designs and other protected elements associated with that universe, belongs to Lucasfilm Ltd. LLC and/or other applicable rights holders. All trade marks, trade names and copyrighted works remain the property of their respective owners, whether or not the symbols ™, ® or © appear alongside them.
References to Star Wars, Jedi, lightsabers and related concepts are used on this website only to the extent necessary to describe the project’s history, cultural context and sources of inspiration, and to identify the corresponding works and concepts. These references do not mean that any project materials, training sessions, events or services were created, licensed, organised or endorsed by Lucasfilm, Disney or any other rights holder. All Temple of Light events and services are offered by an independent project in its own name and under its own responsibility.
Access to this website and the references contained within it do not grant users any rights or licences in the intellectual property of Lucasfilm, Disney or any other third party.
Our interpretation and independent materials
The Star Wars universe provided a cultural impulse for the formation of the community and influenced part of its symbolic language. We approach the Jedi image as a modern archetype of responsibility, self-control, knowledge, action and service to the community—not as a claim that a fictional universe is real, an official interpretation of its works, or an independent continuation of its canon.
Neoteric Martial Arts does not reproduce fictional Star Wars combat systems and is not presented as an official Lucasfilm or Disney method. It is developed independently from real Martial Arts, biomechanics, athletic training, practical experience and the testing of methods through training interaction.
Original texts, photographs, diagrams, videos, teaching materials, design elements and other materials created for the project are protected to the extent provided by applicable law. Unless stated otherwise, rights in specific materials belong to their respective authors or other applicable project rights holders.
Describing NMA as independently developed does not assert exclusive rights over general ideas, principles, techniques, exercises or methods that are not themselves eligible for legal protection. Protection applies to their specific original expression within the limits established by law.
Use of third-party materials
We aim to publish our own materials or materials used with permission, under licence, from the public domain, or under an applicable legal exception. Quotations and extracts from third-party works should be used only to the extent justified by quotation, analysis, criticism, teaching, reporting or another permitted purpose, with attribution to the author and source where required.
All rights in third-party images, videos, audio recordings, quotations and other materials remain with their respective owners. Their appearance on this website does not imply that the owner is affiliated with or endorses the project. Links to third-party resources likewise do not imply a partnership or endorsement of their content.
