TEMPLE OF LIGHT

Lightsaber dueling since 2003

A Practice that begins with the Sword

Temple of Light is a community where martial arts become a tool for human self-development — in a unique setting that brings futurism and tradition together.

We explore movement, awareness, and interaction. We learn to stay clear-minded under pressure, understand our opponent, manage ourselves, and act consciously — both in sparring and beyond it.

The lightsaber has historically been part of our arsenal, but it is not our entire identity.

A system built to keep evolving

Neoteric Martial Arts

At the heart of our practice is NMA (Neoteric Martial Arts) — a comprehensive system that combines the best from traditional martial arts and modern sports methodology with a contemporary understanding of the body and mind.

NMA is not limited to lightsaber fencing. Training employs different kinds of weapons and also includes its own approach to hand-to-hand combat.

What matters is not a particular weapon, but universal principles that let you understand technique, transfer skills between disciplines, and keep developing independently.

Universal Principles

A readable grammar for classifying and constructing movements, drawn from years of comparing martial arts and studying anatomy.

Layer 02: Foundation

Fundamental Techniques

Solo and pair drills and forms variations teach how the body produces and receives force, and the path into an effective attack or defense.

Layer 03: Interaction

Free Application

Technique is being adapted to the situation: range, trajectory, timing, force. Our goal is not to preserve techniques as memorized rituals, but to make them testable and alive.

The Order

Seven levels of development

Seven ranks mark how far a practitioner has come — in fundamental techniques, in the art of applying them, in cooperation and co-creation. Each level and sub-level have their own evaluation criteria, and four of them — Follower, Apprentice, Padawan and Knight — are confirmed by exams and challenges rather than by time served.

It's a challenging Journey, but a very exciting one.

Grown through practice

Community with a history

Temple of Light grew out of a community of martial arts practitioners. Since then we accumulated unique experience that cannot be conveyed only through a collection of techniques. We were always united by a desire to go deeper — to explore the roots of martial arts, and to get a better understanding of human nature through that interaction.

Regular training is complemented by workshops, outdoor camps, and retreats. Those events offer a chance to step outside the daily routine, focus on the practice, and spend time among people with the same mindset.

For those who are looking for more

We welcome people with different levels of experience, but we do not promise easy entertainment or quick results. If the idea of development through action, exploration, and active engagement resonates with you — perhaps we are on the same Path.

There is no path to harmony — Harmony is the Path. There is no path to happiness — Happiness is the Path. There is no path to peace — Peace is the Path.
